Heavy and construction equipment financing

We arrange loans and leases for excavators, skid steers and loaders, dozers and graders, compaction equipment and attachments, plus dump trucks, semi-trucks and trailers. The equipment can come from a dealer, an auction or a private seller, and older or high-hour units are considered. Lenders look for a verifiable serial number and reasonable remaining life.

Construction work slows down in winter. Where the lender offers it, we set up seasonal payments with skipped or reduced winter months, so the payments follow your work. If you are buying at auction, we can arrange pre-approval before you bid, so funding is ready once the hammer falls. See construction equipment financing for more on seasonal structures, or used equipment leasing for auction and private-sale purchases.

Restaurant equipment financing in Calgary

We finance commercial ovens and ranges, walk-ins and refrigeration, espresso machines, dishwashing systems and full kitchen fit-outs for restaurants, bars and cafés. When a replacement can't wait, urgent files are prioritized and approvals can come the same day. For a renovation, a working capital loan can cover the period when the doors are closed. See restaurant equipment financing for the details.

Lease or loan?

An equipment lease gives you the equipment for a fixed monthly payment and keeps cash free for payroll and materials. At the end of the term you can buy the equipment for a pre-set amount, upgrade to newer equipment or return it. An equipment loan makes the asset yours from day one, and you build equity with every payment. Lease payments are often lower, while a loan suits equipment you plan to keep for years. Your accountant can confirm the tax treatment for either.

Working capital and invoice factoring

Businesses with monthly revenue over $15,000 can apply for a working capital loan to cover payroll, inventory, materials or a slow season, repaid from incoming revenue. If your customers pay on 30 to 60 day terms, invoice factoring turns those unpaid invoices into cash now. Our guide to applying for working capital in Calgary covers what lenders check and which documents to gather.

FAQ

Questions owners ask

Should I lease or take an equipment loan?

Leasing usually suits businesses that put cash flow and flexibility first, while a loan suits businesses planning to own the equipment long term. Lease payments are often lower, and end-of-term options let you upgrade or buy. A loan builds equity and lets you depreciate the asset. We can lay out both structures side by side so you can compare real numbers before deciding.

Can I lease or finance used equipment?

Yes, whether you are buying from a dealer, a private seller or at auction. Lenders look for a verifiable serial number, no outstanding liens and a supportable value.

How does financing a private sale work?

You agree on a price with the seller, we arrange the financing, and the lender pays the seller directly. Before funding, the lender will usually check for existing liens, confirm the value and, where needed, ask for an inspection. From there, you make your payments to the lender.

Is there an age limit on used equipment?

There is no single cutoff, but many lenders prefer that the equipment’s age plus the financing term stay within a set limit. Exceptions are common for well-maintained equipment with service records. Send us the details before ruling anything out.

What if my credit is less than perfect?

You may still qualify, though challenged credit usually changes the structure of the deal, for example a larger first payment or additional security. As a broker, we can take your file to other lenders when one says no.
